Lightweight Engine Components

High Compression Ratio

In addition to engine improvements, Skyactiv Technology also includes transmissions with more gears that keep the engine in its optimal rpm range. Automatic versions have lock-up clutches that eliminate slippage.
Over the years, Mazda has continued refining and evolving Skyactiv Technology. Recent upgrades include Skyactiv-X engines with compression ignition and Skyactiv-D diesel engines. More efficient vehicle bodies and chassis have also been added to the Skyactiv suite.
